Leaves & Pumpkin Forest Fest
Today was the last day of term. What a fabulous way to end it - with the year 1's doing Forest School!
We learnt about pumpkins today which linked beautifully to their topic of Autumn.
Year 1 Halloween Forest
We looked at leaves and what all the different parts are called. We then cut up some pumpkins, had a look at the inside of them and processed to have alot of fun smashing them up!
Our Nature table was full of nature art materials to create a beautiful pumpkin picture. We used shredded leaves and red lentils.
The children then explored the area by making a camp and a den made out of sticks and fallen tree branches. It was wonderful seeing their inquisitive nature and creativeness. It's what Forest school is all about.
I showed the children how to make a fire and then we had some yummy hot chocolate.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and a wonderful week off school
