Thursday 25th June

Good Morning Key Stage 2!

As always - please remember to just manage what you can and take things at your own pace. There is no expectation that you need to complete absolutely everything, everyday.

This week is National Insect Week. All of the tasks today will be linked to insects. Begin your day with an active start.

English - Writing

As a one off English lesson today, I would like you to be inspired by this picture. You can write a narrative or write a non-fiction information leaflet inspired by the picture.

Task 1

Your maths lesson today is a bit different. I would like you create your own flow chart categorising insects. Look at the example to guide you. Be imaginative with the insect types that are at the end of your flow chart.

Task 2

Use your knowledge of insects and minibeasts (including spiders) to create a visual times table guide for somebody younger than you!

You might want to create a times table book - remember to include:

  • pictorial representation (pictures)
  • abstract representation (calculation)

Look at my example to help you - you will need to do this for every step of the timestable of your choice.

This afternoon I would like you to create a pencil drawing of an insect. Choose one of the following videos. Take your time and you should be able to produce a very detailed drawing.

Go on an insect hunt. Use the flow chart that you designed earlier in the day to help you to categorise the insects you find.
