Thursday 4th June

Good Morning Key Stage 2!

As always - please remember to just manage what you can and take things at your own pace. There is no expectation that you need to complete absolutely everything, everyday.

Don't forget, I always love to see you work and would love to add it to the virtual classroom gallery for all to see. I'm happy for you to email me, just might not be able to promise a reply to every email that I receive.

I have received some lovely photographs of your talents linked to yesterday's RE work. You can find these on the virtual gallery.

It's been a while since we've joined in with Joe Wicks, find yourself his workout and get yourself ready for today's learning.

Remember to log onto Spelling Shed and Times Table Rock Stars daily. I will check these every Friday will celebrate your achievements in our KS2 Hall of Fame!

English - Writing

Today I would like you to look closely at the image and use the FANTASTICS to describe the door in detail. Remember to write in full sentences. Your ideas will help with tomorrow's writing.

Don't forget - you can still send me examples of your work. I'd love to put some examples of your writing on the gallery.

Please take a look at the writing progression document attached. This shows you what the end of year expectations are for your child's year group. When they are writing, please bear these in mind.

Topic/Creative

Our topic this term is 'Our Local Area/Europe/North America'.

LKS2 we will be learning specifically about our local area and Europe.

Your task is to complete a double page spread (to the standard that we expect from you in class) all about Europe.

Your double page spread must include:

  • a description about what Europe is, look at the knowledge web to help you with this
  • information about how many countries there are in Europe
  • You must include a labelled map of Europe (there is a template attached)
  • information about how many languages are spoken in Europe.

UKS2 we will be learning about our local area and North America.

Your task is to complete a double page spread (to the standard that we expect from you in class) all about North America.

Your double page spread must include:

  • describe the geographical location of the continent of North America
  • describe, using examples, the diversity within the different climate zones that are found in North America

Top Tips

Remember:

  • to give your double page spread a big title (you might want to use bubble writing but take care with the size of your letters)
  • you might want to use pictures from the internet, cut them out carefully, you could even back them on a different coloured paper or card
  • think carefully about the positioning of your information before creating your double page spread.
